Identical twins Seth and Colton Wagner—front men of the steampunk-metal band D.N.A.—have led the eclectic group to the top of the popular charts and made a killing on their first world tour as headliners. On the eve of a long-anticipated Christmas break, wild-child Colton pulls an on-stage stunt in front of a packed arena that shocks the crowd, the media, and Seth. Colton’s outrageous behavior sparks a series of events that threaten to reveal the twins’ closely guarded secret . . . .
Seth and Colton’s brotherly love runs deeper than anyone suspects.
Much deeper.
Review:
I’ll be honest, part of the reason I bought this short was because of the commotion surrounding the Amazon removal of this story (and others) from their catalogue because the content is considered unacceptable. However, I also admit I am a fan of twincest so it wasn’t exactly a hardship to take this on.
Seth and Colton may be twins, they both may be rock stars, but they aren’t carbon copies. Seth is the more quiet responsible twin and Colton is the wild child. After Colton’s on-stage antics involving the police, he and Seth make up in the shower. Much to their dismay, their manager is in the room later when Colton unknowingly lets it slip that they have a sexual relationship.
Their manager then has a decision to make, does she reveal their secret, stay with them and keep her mouth shut, tell their parents? My biggest complaint with this story is it’s length. Yes, yes, it’s a short but I really wanted more. You don’t find out much about how the relationship started and although you get glimpses of the fact that they are two very different young men, I just wanted to see more of that come through. I would love to read more about the two, more history and see further interactions between them emphasizing their differences and yet their connection which you see pieces of.
I know that twincest is not everyone’s cup of tea, but for those who enjoy the genre, it’s a nice little taste of two appealing young men and perhaps the author will give us more one day.
I quite like the odd twincest story as long as it’s handled well. I also like stories with famous characters so I may just give this one a go, especially since it’s short. Great review, Tam.
I think Jaye did a good job and it didn’t feel like it was twins just to be provocative. Enough about their personalities, their differences and how they got there was hinted at to make you curious about them as people not just odd entities that end up in bed. A longer story would not be remiss but it’s a nice little taste.
I liked this one as well, Tam. And from what I’ve seen on GRs there may be a novella or even a novel length story coming out about these guys.
Oh, that’s good news Lily. I think there is lots of potential for more there.
Hmmm, intriguing. I like other fiction by him. I’ll keep it in mind.
It’s a good little short Val. I know twincest is not for everyone, but I enjoyed this taste. Hopefully there will be more as Lily noted.
Twincest. Do not want.
Definitely not to everyone’s taste Chris, but it was a good short for fans of the genre.
Tam, there is definitely a novel about these two coming out in the near future. This short story is basically just the beginning chapters of the novel that is hopefully going to be out this spring sometime. (Jaye was kind enough to impart that information over at Jessewave.)
I liked this short story, but it definitely left me wanting more… specifically, background on how the relationship between the brothers developed and evolved. Hopefully we won’t be waiting long to find out.
Thanks for the heads up Lily. I probably posted at Wave’s before Jaye got there. Glad to here a longer story is coming. I was the same, I wanted to know more about how they started their relationship and see more about them as two different people.
@tam Yes, yes, it’s a short but I really wanted more.
Always leave them wanting more.
LOL So they say.
