Torquere Press was one of the first publishers to help us get started on Brief Encounters and remains one of our biggest suppliers of short stories. Not many publishers take on the short story genre with any regularity (a few), and Torquere was one of the first I discovered when Jen got me hooked on shorts. I’m pleased that they continue to offer a forum for authors (and readers) who enjoy the short story format. (Of course I am also grateful to them for being my first publisher and taking a chance on me too.)
So to celebrate their 9th anniversary there is some fun stuff happening in September at Torquere.
From the Torquere site:
To celebrate our 9th birthday, we’re having gift basket prizes, blog posts from some of your favorite authors, and our grand prize, a brand-new Kindle Fire to say thank you for all your support over the years and to highlight our wonderful authors who bring us such amazing stories.
Check our blog,
http://glbtromance.blogspot.com/
where we’ll be hosting a new author every day. We’ll post excerpts, hang out to chat, and talk about our stories. In addition to the grand prize of the Kindle Fire, we’re giving away gift baskets every week! Some are silly, some are smutty, and all are fun.
This is a super easy contest. You simply go HERE and fill in your name and e-mail and voila, you too could be a winner of some cool swag. I hope you’ll stop by the cafe and meet some authors and maybe try a book or two from someone new or an old (not in age of course
) favourite.
