Review:
This is a new line at Torquere called Tales of Leather. They are short stories with a “leather” theme. In this case, Curt is not really in the mood for his usual BDSM club, but when he spies Kasey on the street, the man, or rather his butt, catches his interest. A little discussion with two guys who know Kasey give him a bit of background about his personal life, and that he plays in the BDSM circuit for money. Curt makes his move at the bar and convinces Kasey to come home with him and play, even though Kasey claims he does it only for the money, not for fun.
There’s not much too this. An extended sex scene, including spanking, once they get back to Curt’s place. You really don’t know much about Kasey beyond the surface of his break-up with a fairly famous actor and that he’s an artist. All you know about Curt is that he’s a contractor and a dom. So there’s not much character growth here obviously, the entire story takes place over a few hours. It’s set up for them to see more of each other. One interesting point was that Curt is shorter than Kasey, but more muscular. A change from the usual submissive being smaller.
For those who enjoy the author’s style or are just in the mood for a short with some spanking it’s a good choice. But it just seemed rather short and incomplete without much to the story to hold my interest. I’ll be curious to see what else comes of out of this new line with the publisher.
